Cashews are pleasantly soft, yet crunchy, and have a delicious flavor that has made them so popular around the world. We source our cashews from Burkina Faso and Vietnam and select the best kernels to ensure the highest enjoyment and quality.
Cashews are the seeds of the cashew tree, which grows up to 14 feet tall and takes three years to produce seeds. Cashew trees produce beautiful yellow cashew fruits, usually referred to as cashew apples. When they are ready to harvest, the seeds come out. While the fruit itself is also edible, the delicate cashew seed is the real prize: after harvesting, the shells are carefully removed by hand to prevent the delicate seeds from breaking.
Cashews are a good source of magnesium, manganese, vitamin E, B1, iron and zinc. They also contain the essential amino acid tryptophan, which the body converts into serotonin and melatonin. Cashews also contain antioxidants that can help fight the effects of aging and for proteins that help build muscle.
