Sour cherries (also known as “tart cherries”) – just like cherries, only sour. Or tart, if you prefer. Not hard to remember, but well worth checking out for fans of strong flavours and unique natural snacking.
As the name suggests, they have a unique, strong, and sour flavour – naturally delicious and surprisingly addictive. We’re huge fans of sour cherries at PlantLife, and it is one of our missions to get more people trying them – once you’ve had a few of these, you’ll be craving more – we guarantee it!
We source our sour cherries from areas located near the old Silk Road, from farmers that we personally know. The wild-growing cherries are hand-picked then pitted, free of any added adulterants or oils. The result is a premium product with great flavour and nutrition. Not only that, but the co-operatives involved in growing these cherries benefit from these premium products, helping their communities flourish and improve their lot in life.
Sour cherries are a source of antioxidants, fiber, and vitamins A, B1, and B2. Vitamin B1 is renowned for its ability to help the body yield energy from food, making cherries great for metabolism.
They’re perfect for a range of uses, including adding to desserts for sour notes, dressing up (plant-based!) cheese boards, pies, or other bland foods, as well as snacking, baking, or adding to mueslis.
