Walnuts are the oldest tree food known to man, dating back to 7,000 B.C. Even the ancient Romans and Greeks were huge fans of these delicious nuts, writing extensively about their health benefits and uses in medicine.
We source our walnuts from wild-growing walnut trees that grow along the mountains in Samarkand, near the old Silk Road. They’re grown and picked by smallholder farmers that we know personally, who use sustainable methods to cultivate their crops. Once peeled and sun-dried, the beautiful nuts are ready to eat.
Walnuts have more antioxidants than any other nut, which is great news for your body's ability to repair and maintain itself. They are also high in vitamin E, sleep-promoting melatonin, and our old friend, omega 3. Walnuts are also highly beneficial as they improve the elasticity of blood vessels.
Due to their size, our delicious walnut pieces are the perfect addition to muesli, salads, or can be used in baking (e.g. banana bread) or a healthy trail mix.
